Coming up in Gallery A: Pictographs and Recent Work, a collection of paintings by Seka Owen. The exhibition opens Thursday December 8 and runs concurrently with Anne Marie Resta's photographs in Gallery B until January 21, 2012.

The VAAA Gallery is open Wed - Fri from 10 - 4 + Sat from 12 - 4. We are closed from Dec. 22 - Jan. 3 for the holidays.

Seka Owen’s series of work “pictographs”, combine a flat abstract space with a subjective iconograpy.  This enables her to fuse rich and diverse artistic sources from ancient, primitive art, as well as mythology and literature, She mostly works in series' establishing a basic compositional format and exploring variations on it in related works.
