Nancy Corrigan 'Pods & Poppies'
Nancy Corrigan
Pods & Poppies
Acrylic on Canvas
30”(h) x 70”(w) x 3/4”(d)
$850.00
For the past several months I have been experiencing my process as a painter much more than ever before. Up until then painting was always an experience to share but one to experiment with, discovering many techniques and many subjects. These acrylic paintings are part of a series I am calling
“Blooms Between.” These are more than paintings on the windowsill or prior to the landscape. These paintings create their own “life energy.”The Vases, contain the nourishing fluids. In the paintings, it is about “the place where life begins.” Flowers in the Vases are a portion of the outside world. That being what is beneath, behind or beyond them!
These paintings are an experience for the viewer as well as the painter.

Pam Thurston 'My UnDoing'
"My Undoing"
oil on canvas
30 x 24"
2009
I begin a painting because I am attracted to a surface or a form and as the painting progresses it becomes a conversation. Each completed work is the result of layering of thoughts, each layer delving a little further beyond the surface of things. I think that’s how life is – many-surfaced and many-layered. To live well is to appreciate the surface of things, but as well to think beyond it.

Distorting the Truth
Digital Fine Art
Ansgard ThomsonMy art has been created on the computer since 1993. No need to say it still upsets
some art dealers, that they can not sell it to well paying clients . Just the same I might have given up printing my digital fine art , (because anyone is doing it now),but I still greatly enjoy creating digital original images instead of reproductions of any of my traditional works I either sold or have given away . Trust I can at least amuse my VAAA friends one more time with my images
and living with my art in the virtual world .

2011
Nancy Corrigan's paintings and drawings are mainly acrylic, watercolour or mixed media pastel and nature collage' works. Nature is her inspiration "on site", still life work, or working "with the circle" as a Mandela study.
Nancy has exhibited her paintings and facilitated many art programs, mostly murals for all ages in the Edmonton and Greater Edmonton Hospitals, Festivals and schools for the past thirty years. Her desire is that through the visual consideration of the earth elements: earth, air, fire, water and love or spirit, people will gain a sense of self and place in this world.
Nancy is currently a staff Artist on The Ward for Friends, The University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton and a free-lance instructor for drawing, painting, mandela and visual expression sessions.
